SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Imagine performing under the bright lights of Harrah’s South Shore Showroom, hearing a packed audience cheer you on, and knowing your talent is helping change lives right here in our community.
That opportunity is coming to South Lake Tahoe this fall as Tahoe Youth & Family Services (TYFS) launches the inaugural Tahoe’s Got Talent, an exciting new community talent competition that will showcase local performers while raising critical funds for youth and families throughout the Tahoe Basin.
Scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, Tahoe’s Got Talent promises an evening filled with entertainment, inspiration, and community spirit. Organizers envision the event becoming a signature South Shore tradition—bringing together local talent, businesses, families, and supporters for one unforgettable night with a meaningful purpose.
But first, organizers are searching for the stars of the show.
TYFS is currently accepting applications for up to 10 acts to compete in the inaugural event. Singers, dancers, musicians, comedians, magicians, spoken-word artists, and unique performers of all kinds are encouraged to audition. Auditions will be held on July 8 and July 19, with selected finalists earning the opportunity to perform on one of Tahoe’s premier stages.
Contestants will compete for honors including Judges’ Choice, People’s Choice, and Most Funds Raised, creating a fun and engaging experience for performers and audience members alike.
While the talent may draw the crowd, the mission is what makes the event truly special.
For more than 54 years, Tahoe Youth & Family Services has served as a lifeline for vulnerable youth, young adults, and families across the South Shore. Behind the postcard-perfect beauty of Lake Tahoe, many young people face challenges that often go unseen—including homelessness, housing instability, family crisis, abuse, trauma, and uncertainty about where their next meal or safe place to sleep will come from.
TYFS meets those challenges head-on through housing programs, counseling services, youth advocacy, mentoring, crisis intervention, and supportive services that help young people find safety, stability, and a path toward independence.
Every dollar raised through Tahoe’s Got Talent will stay local, directly supporting programs that provide hope, healing, and opportunity for young people and families in our community.
“This event is about celebrating everything that makes Tahoe special,” organizers said. “We have incredible talent in this community, and we have incredible people who care about their neighbors. Tahoe’s Got Talent brings those things together in a way that is fun, inspiring, and impactful.”
Whether you’re ready to step into the spotlight, cheer on a friend, volunteer behind the scenes, or support the event as a sponsor, Tahoe’s Got Talent offers a chance to be part of something bigger than a performance.
Applications for performers, sponsors, and volunteers are now available. To learn more or apply, visit www.tahoeyouth.org or call (530) 541-2445.
The spotlight is waiting. The only question is: who will be Tahoe’s next star?
