STATELINE, Nev. – Barton Health purchased the site of the former Lakeside Inn in April 2021. That announcement followed the demolition of the buildings on the property which began this Spring.
Barton Health has now completed another purchase in the area, this time across the street. They bought the building home to both the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority (LTVA) and Tahoe Chamber.
The building, located at 172 US50, was purchased by the healthcare provider on May 26, 2022.
“This dual-campus, bi-state strategy, will expand regional access to healthcare within our community,” said Thea Hardy, Barton Health public relations specialist. “Barton is gathering input from community stakeholders, partner agencies, and patient utilization data to develop a strategic master plan and facility plan that will meet the healthcare needs of our community for years to come.”
LTVA Executive Director Carol Chaplin said they will be moving their offices into temporary space, for now, ultimately having its offices at the new events center once completed in Spring 2023. The Tahoe Chamber is working on a future office plan.
Barton Health is also collaborating with the TRPA and Douglas County, Nevada to maximize benefits to the region, including improved environmental, social, and economic impacts of any new facilities.
A master plan will be developed to include all of the Barton lands at Stateline and the initial planning is expected in 2025. They said the development will feature thoughtful architectural design complementing the surrounding scenery and will meet strict environmental principles to protect Lake Tahoe’s water quality while broadening regional medical services.
