ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. – Step back in time and discover the rich history of Alpine County at the Alpine County Museum in Markleeville. Operated by the Historical Society of Alpine County, the museum features exhibits highlighting the region’s Native American heritage, pioneer settlement, mining history, ranching traditions, and the people and events that helped shape Alpine County and the American West.

As part of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, children visiting the museum will receive complimentary patriotic activities and giveaways while supplies last, including copies of 250 Fun American Trivia Questions: A Patriotic USA Quiz Book for Kids and Families and United States 250th Anniversary commemorative stickers.
