A Celebration of Life Picnic honoring Scott Craig, former general manager of The Riva Grill, will take place on Sunday, June 29, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Rotary Gazebo in Bijou Park, South Lake Tahoe.

Scott, a beloved figure in the local community, passed away late last year after a courageous battle with ALS. He had relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to spend his final time with his brother’s family. His passing comes just two years after the loss of his wife, Jennifer Craig, to cancer. Friends now remember the couple as reunited in spirit.

During his years at the helm of The Riva Grill, Craig was known not only for his leadership but also for his generous support of local fundraisers and charitable efforts. Colleagues and community members alike recall him as a selfless giver who made a lasting impact.

Close friends Greg Gangitano and John Gomez are organizing the picnic as an opportunity for friends and acquaintances to gather, share stories, and celebrate the joy and laughter Scott brought to so many lives.   His daughter Emily Craig will be flying in from Tulsa to join the celebration.

The event is informal and family-friendly. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food and beverages. Photos for a memorial slideshow can be shared in advance by emailing or texting John Gomez at john@tahoedrivingacademy.com or (530) 208-7800.
