STATELINE, Nev. – The Miss Nevada Scholarship Organization has announced that the competition to determine who will be the next Miss Nevada and Miss Nevada’s Teen will be held on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27 at Bally’s Lake Tahoe, in Stateline, Nevada.

“Bally’s Lake Tahoe has been amazing to work with over the past 5 years, and we are excited to welcome 21 of Nevada’s most driven women to one of the most beautiful locations in Nevada,” said Executive Director, Jillian Helget.

The Miss Nevada Scholarship Organization will honor its outgoing Miss Nevada and Miss Nevada’s Teen title holders.

Miss Nevada, Dr. Abigail Bachman a recent Doctoral Graduate from Touro University with her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy. This accomplishment comes on the back of her passion for the Special Needs Community which she advocated for throughout her year as Miss Nevada with her service initiative, “Advancing Opportunities for the Disability Community” partnering with the Miss Amazing Organization, Best Buddies, Special Olympics and more.

Abigail has begun her career in Southern Nevada as an Occupational Therapist paying for a majority of her education with the over $30,000 in Scholarships earned through participating in the Miss Nevada and Miss America opportunities.

Miss Nevada’s Teen, Tahmea Dowdell, a Reno native, spent her year bringing joy to children in the hospital through her service initiative: Coloring for a Cure. She delivers coloring books to children, raises funds for the children’s hospital and more. Tahmea will go on to her freshman year of college this fall hoping to take advantage of one of the full ride scholarships provided to her through the Miss Nevada and Miss America Organizations as well as use of her $5,500 in scholarships earned in only two years of  participation.

“We could not be more proud of these young women and all they have accomplished. We look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future and who will fill their shoes when crowned this week” said Helget.
