SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for the greater Lake Tahoe Area, including the cities of Truckee, Incline Village, South Lake Tahoe, Glenbrook, Markleeville, Tahoe City, and Stateline. Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, and Prosser and Boca reservoirs will be affected.

Small boats, kayaks, and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.

The advisory is in place from 11 a.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.

Expect winds from the southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Wave heights of 1 to 3 feet on Lake Tahoe.
