SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Expect cool and pleasant conditions through Monday with morning lows near freezing in the Sierra and nearby valleys. Things will be warming up for the holiday weekend, though afternoon breezes return with dry conditions and near-normal temperatures.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno says models have quickly resolved an insider-slider type low for Monday, which is a bit odd for late June. Anyhow, this closed low-pressure system will bring additional upper-level forcing, though the moisture content is quite low. Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase
along the Sierra on Monday.
