SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Every year in Lake Tahoe, the Fourth of July marks one of the busiest times for the region. While the celebrations create lasting memories, they can often leave behind litter that can quickly make its way into the lake.

That’s why the nonprofit Clean Up The Lake is inviting community members to join them on Sunday, July 5, for a post-holiday cleanup in South Lake Tahoe focusing on the hotel corridor between Heavenly Village and the Lake Tahoe shoreline. Partnering with Station House Inn, the organization is planning both a ground and SCUBA cleanup to collect debris from above and below the surface.

They’re looking for:

  • Boat Captain and Donated Boat for the Day
  • Surface Support Volunteers, including Kayakers
  • Land-based Cleanup Volunteers

Coffee and bagels will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for volunteers before the cleanup begins.
