For the second year in a row the City of South Lake Tahoe hosted the annual 4th of July parade through town, bringing hundreds of spectators and participants.

Over 75 vehicle and float entries were joined by more than 200 walkers and cyclists along the route which went along Lake Tahoe Boulevard from the Y to Bijou Park. Hundreds of holiday revelers lined the street wearing red, white and blue, cheering and waving as the parade went by.

New this year were commentators Howie Nave and Tracy Franklin who announced the parade atop of Meeks Building Supply truck in front of the Lake Tahoe Unified School bus garage.

At the end of the route was a BBQ fundraiser at Bijou Park for the American Legion. For $5 people were served a burger or hot dog, chips, watermelon and soda.

Those participating in the parade were already talking about how they’d plan their float for next year.

Happy 4th of July!
