UPDATE: The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said they are assisting to secure the area and support recovery efforts after fireworks fell from the barge in Incline Village. If members of the public discover any fireworks debris or unexploded materials around Lake Tahoe, do not touch them. Report is immediately to the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 775-785+9276. Ski Beach, Incline Beach and boat ramp remain closed. Incline Village GID punch card and pass holders only may use Burnt Cedar Beach.

INCtLINE VILLAGE, Nev. – Due to damage sustained on the fireworks barge in a storm on the North Shore Wednesday night, the fireworks show in Incline Village has been canceled. North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District said that, out of an abundance of caution, Incline and Ski beaches will remain closed until further notice.

Community partners will assess the situation and develop a recovery plan.

“Your safety is our top priority,” said NLTFPD on a social media post. “Please stay tuned for updates through official channels.”

Fire personnel are currently on the lake assessing the damage. This story will be updated as the situation changes.

The South Lake Tahoe fireworks show is on schedule and slated to start at 9:45 p.m., and the Tahoe City fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m.
