Lake Tahoe artist Phyllis Shafer has donated one of her unique paintings to benefit the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation. Bids have been accepted since July 7 and will be taken until August 8 at 8:00 p.m.
Hope Valley Blossoms” was painted in 2018 with oil on linen. It is mounted on archival panel, unframed and is 16 x 20 inches.
Currently the high bid is at $5,500.
On the auction site, bidders can “buy it now” for $20,000.
All funds raised will be used to support innovative art programs in PreK-12 classrooms in South Lake Tahoe.
Shafer, who was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and now lives in South Lake Tahoe, has had exhibitions and collections shown across Nevada and California, with her artwork hanging in galleries and museums. She is represented by the Stremmel Gallery in Reno, Nev. and is a Lake Tahoe Community College Art Department faculty member. Learn more about the artist at: http://www.phyllisshafer.com.
