
4:00 p.m. Saturday update: The popular saying “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes” is true again in Lake Tahoe. The National Weather Service in Reno has updated their forecast:
Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

As the Sacramento valley sees highs in the 100s, Reno in the 90s, South Lake Tahoe will have a week of highs 78-85. As of Saturday morning, the chance of weekend thunderstorms has been eliminated. Monday is forecast to be cooler with a high of 78 and wind gusts up to 30 mph.
There is a heat advisory for Sacramento Saturday through Sunday evening and a fire watch warning on Monday for the Carson City – Reno – Susanville region.
