SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Al Tahoe Firewise program is holding its annual neighborhood clean-up and free chipping day on Saturday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. That same day, they are doing some needed fundraising by holding a shredding day at South Tahoe Middle School, also from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At a time when the threat of fire is 365 days a year, all citizens and neighborhoods need to mitigate, mitigate, mitigate this threat. The Al Tahoe Firewise Community will start its clean-up day at 768 Los Angeles, where people can meet their neighbors, learn how they can participate, pick up free paper yard waste bags and buy goodies at the Bake Sale. This is all about neighbors helping neighbors and making the community safer, together. Sign up online in advance for free chipping service: https://www.chipperday.com/southlaketahoe. Limited same-day sign-ups for chipping will be available at the Meet and Greet.

To continue to fund their program, Al Tahoe Firewise is holding a community-wide paper and document shredding event onsite at South Tahoe Middle School, 2940 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Hours: 9:00 to 3:00. This event welcomes all South Shore residents. Suggested donation $5.00 to $10.00 per box or bag.
