SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A colorful city-wide celebration is around the corner, a three-day bloom of local creations. Art and artists from Tahoe Art League will burst forth like spring wildflowers all over town Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Tahoe Art League Open Studio Tour celebrates its 18th annual harvest of artists featuring 33 members in 18 locations. Join them and see your next art piece in its natural environment. Visitors will drive themselves at their leisure and discretion with a map highlighting each studio address. Maps help you daisy-chain studio locations together to plan your potential routes.
Maps and passports will be available at various downtown businesses, each studio, and at The Tahoe Art League Gallery, located at 3062 Lake Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe.
Passports help you organize your tour. Each studio is listed with open space and room for a stamp. Get your passports stamped at every studio you visit to keep track of where you’ve been and where you’re headed.
Visit 10 studios and win a raffle ticket for prizes. At the end of the day, please drop off your passport at your last studio or take it to The Gallery.
Want more raffle tickets? Supporting the arts has its rewards. For every $100 spent, patrons earn additional raffle tickets.
Every work of art has an origin story from inception to creation to completion. Visitors on this August 1-3 Open Studio Tour will get to meet the artist’s family of creations for context. Artists are open to questions. Get to know the creators of your favored choices. The experience and memories of shopping for art from artists add depth of meaning to the lucky pieces that follow you home.
