SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Tahoe Paradise Park has announced that the memorial set up for Giada Lancellotti on the Truckee River bridge at the park has been vandalized, and a treasured personal item is missing.
Giada died on June 7 after being hit by a car while on her bike at Sawmill Pond. A memorial was instantly created on the bridge with flowers, messages of love, stuffed animals, photos, and other items left by friends, family, and the community. The memorial site on the bridge has been lovingly maintained by Giada’s family, and many stop by to visit it to reflect on Giada’s life and the impact the young lady had already made on the community.
Her mother recently noticed signs of vandalism and the disappearance of personal items from the memorial. One item in particular, a cherished wind chime with deep sentimental meaning, is especially missed, said the Park on social media.
If you have come across the wind chime or know its whereabouts, please return it to the host house at Paradise Park. No questions will be asked, and your gesture would be deeply appreciated by those who hold Giada’s memory close.
Thank you for helping us honor and protect this meaningful space.
Tahoe Paradise Park is located at 1011 E. San Bernardino Avenue, South Lake Tahoe.
