Tahoe Music Adventures: Molly Tuttle was amazing!

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Multi-Grammy-award-winning bluegrass musician Molly Tuttle visited South Lake Tahoe’s Hangar-Taproom last Sunday, July 19.

She brought her four-piece all-female band to celebrate and share their exciting blend of bluegrass, Americana, country, and roots music. Her band consists of Ellen Angelico on electric and steel guitar, Mary “Mair” Mulroney on mandolin and violin, Vanessa McGowan on stand-up bass, and Megan Jane on Drums.

Together, these extremely talented ladies brought tunes that had a lot of people dancing, and great harmonies along with wonderful stories. Molly told us how she has been looking forward to filling these beautiful mountains with music this evening. She also told us about her very first music festival that she went to with her dad. It was in Grass Valley, so she wrote a song about her experience called “Grass Valley.”

Caltuckey was the opener for this show, fresh from the High Sierra Music Festival, and they got this crowd moving early in the evening. This amazing bluegrass band can be enjoyed again on Friday, July 31, at the Kings Beach Concert Series.

Molly is renowned for her lightning-fast flatpicking, and her own signature models of Martin and Thompson acoustic guitars, from double-neck to single-neck. They played their signature tunes “Golden State of Mind” (which is a love letter to her home state), “So Long Little Miss Sunshine, ” Crooked Tree,” and finished with Jefferson Starship’s classic tune, “White Rabbit.”

Molly Tuttle and her band are extraordinary musicians, and they brought smiles and will leave great memories with everyone there!
