SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – To date, ten candidates for local positions have completed the requirements for the November election. While some people running for South Lake Tahoe offices have met with City Clerk Susan Blankenship and picked up election packets, none have been turned.
For Lake Tahoe Unified School District, there are two board seats open and both incumbents are running in the November election: Jon Hetherton for Area 2 and Lauri Kemper for Area 5.
For the Lake Tahoe Community College Governing Board, all three incumbents will be running for reelection: Area 1 Kerry David, Area 2 Jeff Cowen, and Tony Sears for Area 5.
There is one candidate to date for the Lake Valley Fire Protection District Board: incumbent Irene Kaelin. There are two open seats.
There are two open seats for Fallen Leaf Lake Community Services. So far, incumbent Daniel Kramer has completed the necessary steps to run.
South Tahoe Public Utility District Board has three open seats, and the three incumbents are in the running again – Nick Exline, Nick Haven and Shane Romsos.
Besides the open seats listed above, there are five open seats in the City of South Lake Tahoe – three city councilmembers, one city clerk and one city treasurer. To run, an appointment needs to be scheduled with Blankenship. The deadline to declare candidacy is August 7. The open seats are those currently held by Cody Bass, Scott Robbins, and Heather Horgan.
