SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Three South Lake Tahoe residents have completed the required paperwork to run for city council.
As of Friday, those candidates are:
- Gantt Miller
- Erika Gonzalez
- Kelly O’Haire
Also qualified is current City Treasurer David Olivo, who is running for re-election.
For those still interested in running for the three open council seats, City Treasurer, or City Clerk, there is an upcoming deadline. Persons interested in running for an elected office must make an appointment with the City Clerk to be issued Nomination Papers. Candidates must be 18 years old, reside within the City of South Lake Tahoe City limits, and be a registered voter within the City Limits. The deadline is August 7.

For Lake Tahoe Unified School District, there are two board seats open and both incumbents are running in the November election: Jon Hetherton for Area 2 and Lauri Kemper for Area 5.
For the Lake Tahoe Community College Governing Board, all three incumbents will be running for reelection: Area 1 Kerry David, Area 2 Jeff Cowen, and Tony Sears for Area 5.
There is one candidate to date for the Lake Valley Fire Protection District Board: incumbent Irene Kaelin. There are two open seats.
There are two open seats for Fallen Leaf Lake Community Services. So far, incumbent Daniel Kramer has completed the necessary steps to run.
South Tahoe Public Utility District Board has three open seats, and the three incumbents are in the running again – Nick Exline, Nick Haven and Shane Romsos.
