SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – To my Art Lovin’ Tahoe Friends! On Sunday, July 20, I was delighted to help my two artist friends, Kristin Boles and Charlotte Castillo, with their first Paint & Sip event on the Valhalla Grand Lawn. It sold out quickly, 45 people painting their hearts out for two magical hours! The painters were so patient and gracious to the artists and numerous volunteers, as this was the first foray into an outdoor directed painting event.
Thank goodness for beer and wine!
This was an important fundraiser for Valhalla Tahoe. A portion of the profits from the Paint & Sip is being used to support the docents for the Viking Art Gallery at Valhalla. This year has been a significant effort to bring the arts back to the property, in conjunction with the regular theatre and music performances. The Viking Art Gallery is reopening, hosting local artists at every free lawn concert over the 2025 season. Valhalla doesn’t charge a gallery fee to the artist for selling their piece, which normally is in the range of 50 percent of the artwork selling price. Valhalla is truly supporting the arts by helping artists make a living wage.
Valhalla Tahoe is run by Director Meg Peart and her small but mighty crew, and they depend on the help of volunteers. They’re always happy to welcome new volunteers. For more information on volunteering or becoming a donor, send an email to info@valhallatahoe.com
