SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The National Gym Association (NGA) Tahoe International Pro/Am Invitational was held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at South Tahoe High School in South Lake Tahoe. The event brought together amateur and professional athletes from across the country to compete in divisions including Men’s Physique, Classic Physique, Bodybuilding, Bikini, Figure,
and Women’s Physique. As a drug-tested natural bodybuilding competition, the invitational featured prejudging and evening finals, with athletes showcasing months and often years of dedication, discipline, and training in pursuit of NGA titles and professional qualification.

South Lake Tahoe native William Aragon, 31, competed in his first natural bodybuilding competition this year after more than a decade of dedication to strength training and a healthy lifestyle. After deciding to compete in April, Aragon committed himself fully to the preparation process, training six days per week, completing more than 82 cardio sessions lasting 45 minutes or longer, meal prepping, practicing posing, and maintaining early morning
routines.

Without a coach, Aragon relied on his own discipline and accountability throughout his preparation, becoming his own biggest supporter and motivator.

“The real battle took place long before the lights came on,” said William. “Through discipline, consistency, and faith, I learned that success is not about beating others. It is about becoming the person capable of achieving your goals.”

Aragon stepped onto the NGA Tahoe International Pro/Am Invitational stage with purpose, competing at the same high school where he grew up as a student. Competing in the Open Men’s Physique Short Class, Aragon brought energy and confidence to both prejudging and finals, earning first place in his division.

“It was never me vs. them. It was always me vs. me. Every rep, every meal, and every sacrifice was a vote for the man I wanted to become. The trophy is just proof. The mentality is the real prize,” said William. “Thank you to the judges and volunteers who helped make this event possible.”

Aragon’s fitness journey continues, and his dedication, discipline, and commitment to personal growth serve as an inspiration to others in the South Lake Tahoe community.
