LAKE TAHOE, Nev. – It looks like the Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe is headed to town. On Wednesday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended the licensing of executives Tilman Joseph Fertitta, Steven Lee Scheinthal, and Richard Holden Leim of Golden Landry’s LLC and GN NV Holdings LLC for what has been known as the Hard Rock Lake Tahoe since the end of 2014.
Things should be final at the Nevada Gaming Commission’s August 24 meeting when the final approval of licensing is voted on.
On the Golden Nugget’s website, Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe is listed with a description of activities. A link to reservations at Lake Tahoe leads users to the Hard Rock website.
The Golden Nugget currently has casinos in Las Vegas; Lake Charles, Louisiana; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Biloxi, Mississippi; Laughlin, Nevada; and Danville, Illinois.
Exact details of plans for Lake Tahoe have not been released. The parent company of the Golden Nugget, Landry’s, owns Chart House, The Morton’s Steakhouse, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, King Ranch Texas Kitchen,
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Landry’s Seafood, McCormick and Schmick’s, Saltgrass Steak House, Joe’s Crab Shack, and Claim Jumper, among many others.
Owner Tilman Fertitta also owns the Houston Rockets. He announced his purchase of the Hard Rock in March.
It is unknown at this time exactly when the transfer will be completed and the name changes.
