SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Rocky officially joined the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) on Tuesday evening when the 15-month old dog was sworn in as a K9 officer.

Rocky lives with his trainer, SLTPD Officer Cory Wilson. They have been training together for three months.

The Angel of Tahoe, Lisa Maloff, donated $50,000 for the purchase of Rocky and his training as well as a previous sizable donation for K9 officer, Rikki, his trainer’s vehicle and training.

This Tuesday, Lisa Maloff made another call to the police department to donate another $10,000 for the purchase of bullet-proof vests for both of their K9 officers.

Wilson has been with SLTPD for 9 1/2 years and Rocky is his first K9.
