SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Many people in the community know Trey Stone, have enjoyed his music, or catch him performing around Lake Tahoe, like during last week’s Tahoe Arts Project Music on the Beach.
His music has brought people joy from his stint with Tower of Power, during his days as a Motown session and performing artist in Detroit, or when he was playing with groups like Rose Royce, The Undisputed Truth, & George Clinton’s Parliament. Or maybe you just enjoy him at South Lake Tahoe venues and fundraisers.
Now, he needs help from the community.
Trey has a new diagnosis of a brain tumor and Alzheimer’s. He thrived in the years after his stroke, in the midst of Parkinson’s and dialysis.
While he faces the new challenge, someone also stole his bike from outside his South Lake Tahoe home.
His wife Lisa set up a GoFundMe page to help replace the bike and help him with medical costs in this new challenge.
“He is so touched by your love and caring for him,” said Lisa on GoFundMe.
“He soaks it up, and it is healing for him in so many ways. So here it is, if you can’t donate, maybe you can share it with others who have been touched by Trey’s talent all these years. Or leave a note of love and encouragement for Trey; it will all make a difference. Maybe a memory of a good time you had at a gig.”
