SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The annual Lake2o “Automotive Experience” returns to Lake Tahoe August 26-30. A large group attends every year with community showcases of their vehicles at different locations on the South Shore. The timing coincides with like events across the country.
This year, there are no public events in the City of South Lake Tahoe, but are scheduled in El Dorado County and Douglas County.
Local law enforcement have been in contact with organizers in the weeks leading up to the event to ensure safety. On the Lake2o Instagram page, organizers asks participants to be respectful of Lake Tahoe and its residents and there is zero-tolerance for disruptive or disrespectful behavior. This behavior includes the reving of engines, burnouts, drifting, littering and racing.
“If you are seen doing any [of these things] you will promptly be asked to leave and your information will be given to authorities,” states the group guidelines posted on social media.
Each day’s meets are announced on Instagram. They started Wednesday at Round Hill Pines, and Thursday morning the event moved to Echo Sno-Park.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and South Lake Tahoe Police Department will have extra staffing to assist with any issues that may arise from the event. I
