TRUCKEE, Calif. – I-80 is closed on all eastbound lanes at Overland due to a semi-truck crash that injured the driver and sent the truck’s cab over the side of the bridge at Floriston with the trailer still connected.
There were no other vehicles involved.
At 10:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Truckee responded to a report of an overturned semi-truck on I80 near Floriston. According to early reports, the driver was ejected. Care Flight was called for the driver.
Caltrans has shut down the eastbound lanes for what CHP says will be a “long-term” closure. There is no estimated time for reopening the roadway at this time.
