SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Seasonably warm and dry today with typical afternoon zephyr breezes prevailing for the start of the week in South Lake Tahoe. Reno/Sparks area faces a Fire Weather Watch on Tuesday, but not for Lake Tahoe. A dry cold front will provide gusty winds and low humidity which elevate those critical fire weather concerns.
Gusty winds will develop along Northern Sierra ridgetops Monday nightwith gusts near 50 mph overnight increasing to near 70 mph by Tuesday evening.
Tahoe will cool down a bit mid-week and breezes will continue, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.
Shower chances of 10-20% could extend into the Tahoe Basin by Friday with
decreased potential overall on Saturday. The better potential for precipitation currently favors Sunday into early next week,
