SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Tahoe Chamber is creating several opportunities this fall to help South Shore residents and the business community become more informed about candidates and issues on the 2026 ballot, including the Tahoe Chamber Voter Guide, 2026 California Candidate Expo, and a Douglas County Candidates Forum in partnership with regional organizations.

The Tahoe Chamber will not endorse candidates during the 2026 election cycle. Instead, the Chamber is focused on providing fair, nonpartisan opportunities for candidates to share their perspectives and for residents and the business community to learn more about those seeking local elected office.

Tahoe Chamber Voter Guide

All qualified South Lake Tahoe City Council candidates have been invited to participate in the Tahoe Chamber Voter Guide by responding to the same standardized questionnaire addressing issues relevant to South Lake Tahoe, the local economy, businesses, and the broader community.

Responses from participating candidates will be published by the Tahoe Chamber in September, allowing voters to hear directly from candidates and compare their perspectives on key local issues.

“The Chamber’s role is to create opportunities for our community to become informed and engaged,” said Jessica Grime, president & CEO of the Tahoe Chamber. “From the Voter Guide to in-person candidate events on both sides of the state line, we want to make it easier for voters to hear directly from candidates, ask questions, and learn more about the issues that matter to the South Shore.”

2026 California Candidate Expo

The community is invited to attend the Tahoe Chamber California Candidate Expo on Wednesday, September 30, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Margaritaville Lake Tahoe Resort.

The Expo has been expanded beyond City Council, with candidates from a variety of local California elected offices invited to participate. The event will feature an open-house format rather than a traditional candidate forum. There will be no formal presentations or moderated program. Instead, participating candidates will have designated areas where residents can meet them one-on-one, ask questions, learn about their priorities, and discuss issues affecting residents, businesses, schools, public services, the local economy, and the future of the South Shore community.

The Candidate Expo is free and open to the public. Complimentary parking will be available, and attendees are encouraged to carpool or use Lake Link. Attendees will also receive dining discounts at Landshark Bar & Grill and JWB Prime Steak & Seafood at Margaritaville Lake Tahoe Resort.
