A woman was hit by a SUV near the crosswalk across from McP’s Pub on Highway 50 near Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe late Saturday night. A CareFlight air ambulance was called and the woman was to be taken to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
At the time paramedics arrived to the accident the woman was breathing but unresponsive, unconscious, with blood coming from her neck and head area. The accident was reported at 11:45 p.m.
Traffic along Highway 50 moved slowly on both sides of the state line. The eastbound lane was closed and traffic was rerouted from the California side at Friday Avenue. Meanwhile Douglas County Sheriff’s patrol officers rerouted traffic at the casino core on the Nevada side.
The woman was taken by ground ambulance to the upper parking lot area of Heavenly Mountain Resort where a CareFlight air ambulance was to transport her to Reno.
