DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – Douglas County School District Board of Trustees member Erinn Miller has taken a leave of absence from her duties, effective immediately, according to a statement by the school district.

Miller was arrested on two felony counts of embezzlement on Sept. 4, 2026. She is accused of embezzling over $135,000 from the Zephyr Cove Elementary and Whittell High School parents’ clubs. There are other possible charges heading her way.

The Douglas County School District issued the following statement regarding Miller:

Douglas County School District Board of Trustees member Erinn Miller has taken a leave of absence from her duties as a member of the DCSD Board of Trustees effective immediately, pending the resolution of personal legal matters.

DCSD remains focused on supporting its students, staff and families and ensuring the continued work of the Board of Trustees and DCSD operations.

During Miller’s leave of absence, the DCSD Board of Trustees will continue conducting its business and carrying out the mission of DCSD.
