Firefighters are making good progress on The French Fire, which has burned 120 acres off French Creek Road, south of Shingle Springs in El Dorado County.
As of 7:00 p.m. September 17, the fire was 20 percent contained.
The fire burned quickly through a cattle ranch after starting Sunday afternoon.
According to CalFire, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
