The following is the roadwork schedule from Caltrans on Lake Tahoe area roads.

SPECIAL EVENT
State Routes 28 and 267 (Placer County): Motorists should be alert for increased road cyclists on sections of State Routes 28 and 267 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday during the “Stetina’s Sierra Prospect” cycling event. EMERGENCY PROJECTS
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Forest Road to the PG&E canal in Fresh Pond: Westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed for pavement repair. Completion is expected by the end of October.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): The highway is reduced to one lane in each direction at Bridal Veil Falls roadway repair work. Completion is expected in late fall.

LONG-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 49 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $22 million project to replace the South Fork American River Bridge in Coloma-Lotus. This project will make seismic improvements to the bridge, widen the structure to allow for 8-foot shoulders and 6-foot sidewalks, and also make roadway improvements to State Route 49 on either side of the bridge. Completion is expected in fall 2018. September 25-29 – State Route 49 (El Dorado County) at the South Fork American River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $57 million project from the “Y” intersection with State Route 89 to the Trout Creek Bridge in South Lake Tahoe. This project is building new drainage systems to collect and treat stormwater runoff, rebuilding curb, gutter and sidewalks, widening the highway to allow for bike lanes and resurfacing the roadway. Completion is expected in fall 2019. September 25-29 – U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Dunlap Drive to Winnemucca Avenue: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the highway reduced to one lane in each direction around the clock from 12:01 a.m. Monday to 11 a.m. Friday for grinding and paving work.

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $35 million project in Tahoe City to build a new Truckee River bridge east of the Caltrans Maintenance Yard with roundabouts on either end of the realignment, replace the existing Truckee River (Fanny) Bridge, construct a roundabout at the “Wye” intersection and make complete street enhancements to the portion of State Route 89/West Lake Boulevard. Project completion is expected in fall 2018. For more information, visit: www.fannybridge.org September 24-29 – State Route 89 (Placer County) from Fairway Drive to Tahoe Tavern Road: Motorists can expect shoulder closures as work continues behind k-rail for grading on the new bridge alignment and bridge abutment work.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Dollar Hill to Old County Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 p.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday for electrical work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Sahara Drive to Center Street: Motorists should expect lane shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Brassie Avenue to Deer Street in Kings Beach: Motorists should expect intermittent full highway closures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for utility work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Cameron Park Drive: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday for utility work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Weber Creek to Carson Road in Placerville: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed at various locations from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday for guardrail work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Alder Creek Road to 30 Mile Stone Tract: Eastbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed at various locations from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday for sign work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Strawberry Tract: Eastbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 11 a.m. Thursday for roadway excavation work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at the junction with State Route 89 in Meyers: Westbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday for roadway excavation work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Mt. Ralston Road to Alpine Avenue: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday for sign work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Johnson Pass Road to Echo Summit: Westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday for sign work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Bayview Campground to Eagle Falls Campground: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control around the clock from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Friday for guardrail, barrier wall and slope repair work.
State Route 89 (Placer/Nevada County) from the Truckee River Bridge at Squaw Valley to the Interstate 80 on- and off-ramps in Truckee: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations around the clock from 8 p.m. Sunday to noon Friday for grinding and paving work.
