SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe, the South Tahoe Association of REALTORS®, and Citizens for Integrity in Government will host a City Council Candidate Speed Dating Forum on October 1 at the STAOR building, located at 2307 James Avenue.
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will offer community members an informal, interactive way to meet the candidates for South Lake Tahoe City Council.
Rather than using a traditional forum format in which candidates speak from a stage, candidates will rotate among small groups of community members seated throughout the room. During each timed round, candidates will briefly introduce themselves and answer questions from attendees. The format is intended to encourage direct conversation, meaningful interaction, and discussion of the issues affecting South Lake Tahoe.
Members of the public will remain seated while candidates rotate from table to table. By the end of the evening, each audience group will have an opportunity to meet and hear from every participating candidate.
The Candidate Speed Dating Forum is intended to provide voters with an engaging and accessible opportunity to learn more about the individuals seeking to represent them on the South Lake Tahoe City Council.
The event is open to the public. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. and the program will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
