Each participating candidate was invited to respond to the same set of questions addressing issues affecting South Lake Tahoe and its local economy. Topics include community priorities, economic vitality and diversification, workforce housing, business climate and permitting, tourism and the visitor economy, transportation, regional cooperation, community engagement, and leadership.
Candidate responses are presented in their own words, without substantive editing or commentary by Tahoe Chamber, allowing readers to review each candidate’s perspective on a consistent set of topics.
“Our goal with the Voter Guide is to provide a straightforward resource where voters can hear directly from the candidates,” said Jessica Grime, president & CEO of Tahoe Chamber. “We encourage our members and the broader community to read the responses, learn more about the issues, and use the information as one of the resources available to them as they make their own decisions in this election.”

Meet the Candidates at the California Candidate Expo
Tahoe Chamber will also host the 2026 California Candidate Expo on Wednesday, September 30, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Margaritaville Lake Tahoe Resort. The event is an open-house opportunity for community members to meet candidates seeking to represent the South Shore across a variety of local elected offices.
The Candidate Expo is designed for direct, one-on-one conversations. Attendees can visit participating candidates throughout the evening, ask questions, learn about their priorities, and discuss topics affecting residents, businesses, schools, public services, the local economy, and the South Shore community.
There will be no formal presentations or moderated forum. Each participating candidate will have a designated area, allowing attendees to move through the Expo at their own pace and spend time on the candidates and topics they want to learn more about. The event is free and open to the community, with complimentary parking available. Carpooling and Lake Link are also encouraged.
