LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe that will be in effect Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This advisory also effects Boca and Stampede reservoirs, Honey Lake and Frenchman Lake.
Expect southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Waves 1 to 3 feet on Lake Tahoe.
Also for Friday, NWS Reno has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Sierra Front including Alpine County, Carson Valley, Carson City and Reno for Friday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Expect gusty winds and low humidity.
