SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – St. Theresa’s Bread & Broth is seeking community volunteers to pack and deliver nutritious, kid-friendly food for local children experiencing food insecurity. The all-volunteer charitable organization, which has helped ease hunger in the Lake Tahoe South Shore community for more than 37 years, asks volunteers to serve about three hours once a month.
For the new school year, Bread & Broth needs volunteers for its B&B 4 Kids Weekend Food Program. Volunteers serve once a month, generally on Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; some shifts occur on Wednesdays to accommodate LTUSD school schedules. During each shift, volunteers pack bags with kid-friendly food and deliver them to LTUSD schools and childcare centers. Volunteers must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
