EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – The next meeting of the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors will take place in the South Lake Tahoe City Council chambers at the airport. The meeting will be on Tuesday, September 29 starting at 9 a.m.

The agenda is a fairly short one. On the agenda:

There will be a report on County Senior Services operations in South Lake Tahoe and Placerville, including Placerville Senior Day Care challenges and the South Lake Tahoe Senior Services location change. Staff is looking for direction from the supervisors on the operation of Senior Day Care on the West Slope.

Senior Day Care is funded through General Fund (64%), charges for services (35%), and donations (1%). Senior Services in South Lake Tahoe are funded through General Fund (43%), State funding (31%), Federal funding (19%), Donations (6%), and Charges for Services (1%).

Senior Day Care has had challenges in maintaining and increasing staff levels, as well as expanding member participation, which have not been successful. To be sustainable, they want 24-32 average members. This month, their average has been 12 members per day out of the 26 enrolled members.

In South Lake Tahoe, the County provides senior nutrition and legal services, along with information and assistance, as well as a mini-education series. These services are planning on moving from the Senior Center to the multi-generational recreation center this fall.

The Board will receive and file the analysis they requested of the November 2026 Measure S ballot measure titled the “Emergency Preparedness, Healthcare Access, and Wildfire Prevention Sales Tax Initiative” and provide further direction on the analysis, if needed. This is at a 9 a.m. time certain.

With an 11 a.m. time certain slot, the Planning and Building Department, Economic Development Division, is recommending the Board consider the following:

Direct staff and SEED to begin coordinated implementation as detailed in the plan and return to the Board annually with progress updates.

Approve the El Dorado County Economic Strategy Implementation Plan prepared by the El Dorado County Strategic Economic Enhancement and Development Committee (SEED).
