SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to change our world, including how we learn, work, communicate, and prepare students for the future. Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) invites families, staff, students, and community members to join us for a Community Conversation about Artificial Intelligence in our schools.

The Community Conversation will be held October 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the LTUSD District Office, 1021 Al Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

As AI becomes increasingly present in education and everyday life, LTUSD wants to hear different perspectives about what this technology means for our students and schools, both now and in the future.

The evening will include a discussion about AI and student learning, including the question, “Do you have concerns about student learning because of the use of AI?” Student Board Member Miri Lucksinger will then provide a presentation from the student perspective.

Attendees will also participate in small table conversations to share their ideas about the future of AI in LTUSD schools. What should we be thinking about? What opportunities or concerns should we consider? And what would our community like to see the District doing as AI continues to evolve?

LTUSD hopes you’ll join them, share your perspective, and help them continue the conversation about AI and the future of teaching and learning in LTUSD.
