SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Want to learn about increasing food access in South Lake Tahoe with FeedTahoe this holiday season? Join them at their Fall Food Drive Volunteer Kickoff Event on Thursday, October 22, at Cowork Tahoe at 10 a.m.
Leading up to the holidays, they are running their second annual food drive during November to stock food pantries with non-perishable food and ensure good food goes into the hands of neighbors who need it. It takes a community to feed a community, so FeedTahoe is looking for volunteers to help make that happen.
At this event, you can connect with existing and new volunteers while learning how to navigate the FeedTahoe App and its useful features. Plus, they will have open food drive rescues for volunteers to claim to get started right away.
What you can expect when attending the Volunteer Kickoff:
- Short presentation on the FeedTahoe app
- Overview of Fall Food Drive volunteer needs
- Q&A with FeedTahoe staff
- Mingle with other like-minded volunteers and community members
- Free lunch and coffee provided
- Free FeedTahoe t-shirt and other swag items
Can’t make it to the event but still want to support the food drive? Here are some simple, yet impactful ways to help:
- Download the FeedTahoe App and claim a food rescue to transport food from a donor to a nonprofit recipient
- Fill a Fall Food Drive tote bag with Thanksgiving dinner sides to help us reach our goal of 500 Thanksgiving meals provided!
- Donate any unexpired, unopened, and non-perishable food in good condition to one of their collection bin locations
