SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for Saturday, October 10, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The warning applies to Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, Washoe Lake, Pyramid Lake, and the Prosser, Boca, Lahontan, and Rye Patch reservoirs.
Southwest winds will be 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Waves 2 to 3 feet on Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake.
Gusty winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft.
In lower elevations, the winds and conditions have brought Fire Weather warnings for eastern California and western Nevada.
