LAKE TAHOE, Nev. – On the eve of the first annual Hangtime Music Festival, lucky folks in the South Lake Tahoe area are getting an unofficial kickoff party with jam powerhouse moe. coming to the Harrah’s Casino South Shore Room in Stateline, Nev. The show starts at 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026. It is going to be one of the best to grace the Shore Room so far this year!

moe. has been around for three and a half decades and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, playing on average 100 shows per year. They have been through tragedy, serious illness, and everything in between and continue to resiliently put out some of the best music in the jam scene today.

According to their website, “moe. is a brotherhood, featuring Derhak, Schnier, guitarist/vocalist Chuck Garvey, drummer Vinnie Amico, percussionist/vibraphonist Jim Loughlin, and keyboardist Nate Wilson. The six-piece band came up in the primordial pouch of the early jam band scene, alongside Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Widespread Panic, and Phish.”

Their most recent album “Circle of Giants” is one of my all time favorites from the band, with high-energy tunes like “Yellow Tiger” and “Bat Country” staying true to the band’s signature sound in a refreshing way. Nate Wilson on the keys is the newest full-time member of the group, only being officially added in 2023. While moe. was already a legendary force on the jam scene without keys, they realized while Nate was filling in for Chuck Garvey in 2022 that the sound was even more well-rounded with the keys and stuck with him. You’ll be glad they did when you come dance your face off to what American Songwriter describes as “mind-melting musicality.”
