SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) sent out a message to parents on Monday, telling them there is an investigation into a report of a threat made by students. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) said they cannot comment on this matter as it is an active investigation.
At this time, neither can comment on which school is involved or how many students may be involved.
“We are taking this matter seriously and are working closely with local law enforcement to investigate and ensure the safety of our students and staff,” said LTUSD in the message.
“We want to emphasize that our district takes all threats seriously, and we will implement appropriate safety measures and disciplinary action. We encourage families to discuss with their students the importance of following school rules and the seriousness of making any type of threat,” the District said.
SLTPD said there is no threat to the community, and both police and LTUSD will release more information when available.
