SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – El Dorado County health officials say another seven residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. Of those, three are in El Dorado Hills, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, one in Greater Placerville, and one in the Lake Tahoe region.

One of those new cases, 4 aged 18-49, 2 aged 50-64, and 1 aged 65 or older.

Another 175 people were tested for the coronavirus and 168 negative tests results were received.

There have been another 12 assumed recoveries with 81 assumed active cases.

There are currently no COVID-19 ICU patients at Marshall or Barton hospitals, and no suspected cases in the ICU.

El Dorado County is in the orange/moderate tier of reopening. To move to the next tier, the yellow/minimal tier, the average daily rate of new cases needs to be less than one per 100,000 residents, and positivity rate of less than two percent for the previous two weeks. This cannot be done until being in the orange tier for three weeks at a minimum, which means there is a re-evaluation on November 3.

The County dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.

The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 1.0 percent positivity (specimens collected Oct. 10-16), and the 14-day rate of new cases is 41 (-1).

The Lake Tahoe region of the county has moved back into the Moderate Tier and no area is currently in the High Tier along with El Dorado Hills and Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99). Shingle Springs/Cameron Park/Rescue, El Dorado/Diamond Springs moved back into the low tier with South County, North County, and Placerville (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days).

County-wide there have been 1,315 cases with 514 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).
