In early 2025, students at South Tahoe High School proposed that the Booster Club help purchase and install water bottle refilling stations at key locations around campus.
Meeks Lumber and Hardware generously provided the water bottle stations at cost. The STHS Climate Crew, a student-led club, raised funds to cover the cost of one of the stations, while the Booster Club covered the cost and installation of the remaining three.
The filling stations were originally scheduled for installation during Spring Break, but issues with the initial contractor caused several delays. Fortunately, Kramer Mechanical stepped in and completed the installation of all four stations on time, under budget, and before the start of the 2025–26 school year.
The STHS Viking Booster Club would like to thank Kramer Mechanical, Meeks Lumber and Hardware, and the students of the Climate Crew for making this project a reality. Thanks to their efforts, students now have easy access to drinking water on campus — and we’re taking meaningful steps toward reducing single-use plastic bottles at our school.
