SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – El Dorado County health officials say another seven residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday. Of those, one is in El Dorado Hills, one in Greater Placerville, one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, and four in the Lake Tahoe region.
One of those new cases, two are under the age of 18, and 5 are aged 18-49.
Another 126 people were tested for the coronavirus and 119 negative tests results were received.
There have been another five assumed recoveries with 111 assumed active cases.
There is currently one COVID-19 ICU patient at Marshall or Barton hospitals, and one suspected case in the ICU.

El Dorado County is in the orange/moderate tier of reopening. To move to the next tier, the yellow/minimal tier, the average daily rate of new cases needs to be less than one per 100,000 residents, and positivity rate of less than two percent for the previous two weeks. This cannot be done until being in the orange tier for three weeks at a minimum, which means there is a re-evaluation on November 3.
The County dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.
The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 1.6 percent positivity (specimens collected Oct. 15-21) and the 14-day rate of new cases is 51 (+4) (these figures do not include today’s data).
No area is currently in the High Tier. The Lake Tahoe region of the county, El Dorado/Diamond Springs are in the Moderate Tier with El Dorado Hills and Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz. New to that tier today are Shingle Springs/Cameron Park/Rescue and Greater Placerville (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99). South County and North County are in the low tier (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days).
County-wide there have been 1,368 cases with 533 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Their seven-day test rate is 2.9 percent positive, and average daily case rate for last 7 days is 6.0 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 5.0 percent, 14-day increase is 10.1 percent.
