SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – El Dorado County health officials say another 15 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday. Of those, two are in El Dorado Hills, one in Greater Placerville, two in North County, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and 10 in the Lake Tahoe region.

One of those new cases, one is under the age of 18, four are aged 18-49, seven are aged 50-64, and three 65 or older.

Another 223 people were tested for the coronavirus and 208 negative tests results were received.

There have been another ten assumed recoveries with 158 assumed active cases.

There are currently two COVID-19 patients at Marshall or Barton hospitals with one of those in the ICU, and no suspected cases hospitalized.

* no new deaths (4) El Dorado County is in the orange/moderate tier of reopening. To move to the next tier, the yellow/minimal tier, the average daily rate of new cases needs to be less than one per 100,000 residents, and positivity rate of less than two percent for the previous two weeks. This cannot be done until being in the orange tier for three weeks at a minimum, which means there is a re-evaluation on November 3.

The County dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.

The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 2.3 percent positivity (specimens from Oct. 20-26) and the 14-day rate of new cases is 74 (+13) (these figures do not include today’s data).

The Lake Tahoe region of the county has moved into the High Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 100). North County has joined El Dorado Hill , El Dorado/Diamond Springs, Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park/Rescue and Greater Placerville are in the Moderate Tier (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99). South County and North County is alone in the low tier (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days).

County-wide there have been 1,444 cases with 557 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

We are reporting an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The individual was a Lyon County resident. CCHHS is also reporting 21 new cases and 19 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,937, with 1,751 recoveries and 24 deaths; 162 cases remain active.

Their seven-day test rate is 3.5 percent positive, and average daily case rate for last 7 days is 7.9 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 7.7 percent, 14-day increase is 13.0 percent.
