Hello South Shore Residents and Beyond! Michelle Gomez here with Tahoe Art League. We have so many fun events on the calendar as this year comes to a close. As one of Tahoe’s oldest non-profits, we want you to know what we’re all about, with our special events and year-round continuing programs. You do not need to be a Member to enjoy our events. Should you decide to partake or participate in any of our Art Gallery or Fundraising events, we thank you for your support, whether financial or a volunteer time contribution.
This Friday, November 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., is the opening reception of the new Holiday-Winter Art Show at Tahoe Art League Gallery at 3062 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. Artists will be present to talk about their artworks for sale in our gallery through February 1. Please stop by for a nosh and a beverage, and do some holiday gift shopping! Gallery is open Thursdays through Sundays from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Bowl for the Arts Fundraiser for Tahoe Art League on Saturday, November 15, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tahoe Bowl has given us a special deal to welcome bowlers who want to support the Tahoe Art League. $30 for an individual bowler, $25 each for two or more bowlers and tickets can be purchased at the door, or on the TAL website https://talart.org/. Includes the rental of bowling shoes. Get your group together and come bowl! We have 9 tables of artists and crafters offering their creations, a great time to buy Holiday gifts from local artisans. STRIKE!!
Upcoming Member Mingle is the Third Thursday of the Month, so Thursday, November 20, at the Tahoe Art League Gallery from 5:30 p.m. to 7 pm. Featured Artist/Musician is Kevin Whalen of South Lake Tahoe. Kevin will talk about his journey from dedicated government employee, to devoted artist specializing in ceramics, to now a musician launching his first full album last week! I will be writing an article on Kevin and his courageous story as his speaking engagement gets closer.
