SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – It was victory in Las Vegas Saturday for both the boys and girls soccer teams from South Tahoe High School (STHS). The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) 3A state title now belongs to both STHS teams.

It turned out to be an all-California final in the Nevada State tournament, with the Lake Tahoe-area teams playing in NIAA.

STHS girls met the North Tahoe team Saturday morning on the field at Cristo Rey High School in Las Vegas. The Vikings held on to win, 1-0.

That game was followed by the 3A boys’ final between STHS and Truckee. The Vikings were victorious, 4-1.

Winning State was the culmination of great seasons for the Vikings. The boys ended their regular season 16-3-3, 5-1-2 in the league, which put them in second behind Truckee.

The girls were almost perfect, with a first-place finish of 11-0-1 in league play, 21-3-3 overall.
