Both of the South Tahoe High School soccer teams won the 2024 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) State Championship this weekend.
The STHS Girls won the #1 seed from the north during playoffs, then won their first round on Friday against Dayton by a score of 2-0. They then met the #2 seed from the north, Truckee, for the state title on Saturday and the Vikings won 5-0. During the regular season, the girls ended with a 19-2-2 overall record, 11-1-2 (2nd) in league.
The STHS Boys also won the #1 seed from the north during playoffs, then won their first round on Friday against Del Soul, the #2 team from the south. The championship game was against SLAM Nevada, the #1 team from the south. The Vikings won the game 2-1. During the regular season, the boys ended up with a 20-4-2 overall record, 11-2-1 (2nd) in league.
