One week after the Whittell High girls brought home the state soccer trophy for division III schools, the girls from South Tahoe High are headed to the state tournament for division 1-A. They are entering the tournament as the number two seed from the North after losing to Truckee in the Regional Playoffs.

The Lady Vikings ended the regular season holding onto the top spot with a 15-0-1 league record and an overall 19-3-1. They made 86 goals during the regular league season with only five being scored against them (with 107 overall goals made with just 13 scored against them). The South Tahoe girls dominate most of the league categories:

Goals: Jordyn Dion and Ally King tied for first with 18, Annie Brejc number five with 14. The national average is just 4.

Points: Jordyn Dion 55 (1st) , Ally King 44 (2nd) , Ashlee Schouten 35 (5th). The national average is 10.

Assists: Jordyn Dion 19 (1st), Kendall Egan 10 (2nd), Ally King 8 (3rd), Alejandra Gutierrez 7 (5th). The national average is 3.

Coach Jeremy Evans will take the team to the tournament November 14 and 15 in Henderson, NV. They face the number one seed from the South, Faith Luthern, on Friday night. The winner of that game takes on the winner of the Truckee-Sierra Vista match at noon on Saturday.
