SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. The Kirkwood Mountain Resort Adopt A Day (AAD) crew members arrived at St. Theresa’s Grace Hall Monday, November 7, thrilled and excited not only to be volunteering but also for the several feet of snow the weekend storm had provided. Representing Kirkwood were Cara Bourne, Skier Services Manager; Justin Hartwell, Director of Skier Services; Stephanie Padilla, F&B Manager; and Charli Talley, F&B Administrator. This volunteer AAD team brought the service skills they use to enhance the resort’s skier experience to make sure that the dinner guests at Bread and Broth’s (B&B) Monday Meal also experienced a warm welcome and a great dining experience.

“Bread & Broth’s Monday Meal is a fantastic opportunity for us Kirkwoodians to give back to the community,” shared Stephanie. “Everyone deserves a hot meal and we delivered plenty! Some of these folks probably didn’t get served with a smile today and it was wonderful to be able to do so.” The Kirkwood crew served a ‘fruity’ chicken entrée over noodles, roasted broccoli (given an A+ rating by Stephanie), a green salad, garlic rolls, and an assortment of drinks and desserts.

Thanks to Vail’s Epic Promise Grant, Kirkwood Mountain Resort funds and hosts a Monday Meal every other month. Kirkwood always sends their “A” team members and the B&B volunteers always enjoy volunteering side-by-side with them. “I’m looking forward to our next opportunity to join the B&B volunteers to serve the great community of South Lake Tahoe,” added Stephanie. “Thank you, Bread & Broth, for having us!”
